PS elements

Looking for some advise and think this is the best place. Using a Dell laptop with Windows 8.1 and can not install my Photoshop 7 program since it is 32 bit.
Am looking at getting one of the Elements programs and the one I am looking at is Elements 7, a little less costly than the latest version.
The question is will it function with my computer ? The best I can find it that it is compatible with Windows 7 and back to XP. If not will Elements 9 work.
Thanks a ton and have a good day.

Re: PS elements

Moved your post here as the forum you posted in is really for images.

I don't know the answer to this but bearing in mind how old Elements 7 is now I would be very cautious before I bought it. Safest would be to get a version that was released after Windows 8 was rolled out.

Found this Adobe chart on a Google search

https://forums.adobe.com/message/4527508

and according to that Elements 10 has had minimal testing and Elements 11 is a better bet. It also indicates that Elements 7 is not for Windows 7.

Re: PS elements

Before you buy try FastStone Image Viewer. It is a free download and is actually very good. I use various programs but use fastStone just to look at images. Open the folder click slideshow and watch. Elements also does this but is more awkward to get same result
