Re: Raw to jpeg
I might be barking up the wrong tree here but......
Are you trying 'Save As' in 16 bit mode? |

Re: Raw to jpeg
You can go to file >'save as' and then in the bottom drop down for file type, select jpg. That way you will retain the EXIF information and can control the size of the file by altering the quality slider before saving.
Hope that helps

Re: Raw to jpeg
Image>mode>.......if 16 bit is ticked.......change this to 8 bit then go to 'Save as' and the jpeg option should now be there.

Re: Raw to jpeg
Just as a pointer on the 8/16 bit thing: if you are using CS, it is best to convert to 8 bit if you want to do any work on it as a tif file (after having converted from RAW that is) as well as being necessary to convert to a jpg file. The reason for that is CS greys out a lot of the editing options for 16-bit files.
In CS2 this problem is mostly gone as the tools now work at 16 bit level as well. Having said that, for most people 8 bit is perfectly adequate most of the time. 16 bit images take up a heck of a lot more space but do give greater detail in shadows and highlights and greater tonal gradation for things like skin tones etc. Anyway, just thought I'd stick that addition in for anyone using Pre-CS2. Cheers, Rob ps, It's been a while since I used CS so forgive me if I have got it wrong, I can't remember whether 16 bit editing was improved for CS2 or for the first CS. If CS has 16 bit editing for most tools, pre-CS definitely doesn't.
