Required things?

Hello mates,

What are the things to take care of when we are going to shot in Rain? I didn't experience it before and so need to know.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Required things?

Even though I have a weather resistant camera and lenses I always have a camera rain cover and a few squares of car wash leather (well washed to remove oils) for wiping the front lens element.
Tissue etc. leave smudges and fibres behind.
I got the cover from Premier Ink.com and the leather from Halfords.
Hope this helps Roshi.

Re: Required things?

My last two DSLR's have been weather resistant so a few drops of rain does not matter. Nevertheless, I do try to keep the camera and lens as dry as possible. An umbrella can be useful in some situations. Also assuming that you are wearing a coat to keep dry, keep the camera inside the coat except for the last minute when taking shots. Alternatively, choose a showery day so you have the benefit of the wet ground but can use the camera in between the showers. While photography in the rain is a relatively small percentage of my shots, it can work well for some sport, street photography and some landscape photography.

Re: Required things?

Roshni, I just checked Premier ink and they have stopped doing covers, However Wex has a large selection for all sizes of camera.

Re: Required things?

OK call me tight, but a suitably sized plastic bag and an elastic band to keep the rain out around lens hood.......at one point in history people actually made things, an art that seems to be fast dissapearing

This is just the case to protect the camera from any mishappenings.

Re: Required things?

First of all, Pack your essential kit for possibility of rain such as umbrellas, extra clothes, plastic bags, towels.
Secondly, scout your location that will allow you to create great images even in bad weather.
