Round 8 Photo Critiques...
well i thought i would do this as i have a few minutes of fun time! All my personal opinions and not those of the site, and please dont take offence!
Steve - I really like this one, i think a combination of the feet all going the same way, or the simplicity of it all, or the rain, i just dont know, the lines lead you in and the feet take you through, but its a cracking shot, my No1 Pete - Liked this one too, i had already seen it though, so the impact of it was taken away, which was a shame as it is a good shot! Stepheno - My third fav, so at least i got the voting right! Nice and simple, leads you in to the shot and the foot prints make it more interesting, very well spotted i think GaryBagshaw - Think this would have worked better if it were taken on a longer shutter speed, the theme relevance is there, but its a little dark CT - liked this one, lights needed to be in twinkle mode and for me perhaps might have worked if the road on the left wasnt there! Bachs - another nice idea, but i prefer the lights to have twinkly look about them, would have made a stronger image for me IanC - A nice sunset, but the road and car seem incidental, could have done better Ian, and you know you can! DaveyUK - I like the look of this, would love to see a larger size version of it! Ghandi - Really nice shot, well composed, but i dont get the association with puplic highway! Sorry! Gemok - Different interpretation of the theme and one that works quite well for me, thought it would have done a bit better tbh! RobertP - Longer shutter speed to get the trails would have made a better shot here, might have tried from above the center reservation too. Nice idea though, just needs polishing Kenco1964 - Like this, maybe a lower angle, camera angle would have worked better though? Matty - *glosses over inadequacies* Jump - Different spin on the theme, needed a bit of tidying up to sharpen it up, but otherwise ok |

Thanks Matty - for taking the trouble .
I often drive that bit of road and the white predestrian crossing lights always strike me as a huge contrast- a sort of vivid white splash against the overall orange lighting which I was trying to capture. I nearly submitted a B&W version in the end, but I didn't find it an easy round at all. |

There was another street light 10ft from the bridge in the middle
![]() btw.... the competition link on the 'home' page goes to the page still saying public highway. Thought I'd remind myself what the current one is...I remember now - things around the home |

I thought about this when I posted my entry...
Strictly speaking the beach IS a public highway, as it's an area where the public are free to perambulate. I did consider the fact that people might not get the PH angle of it. Should've entered one of my pier shots ![]() Thanks fo rtaking the time to post some critique though. I've got some in the pipeline, honest. Well, I thought about it, really I did. Look, the dog ate it!!!!!! OK? |

Cheers for taking the time out to critique, I was thinking that there would be loads of entries with long shutter speeds and blurred car lights so opted for not going down this route, DOH!
