Re: Sensor Cleaning

If you'd also like a very soft nylon brush that is good for cleaning the mirror, focusing screen and also the sensor itself if the dust isn't sticky, try Daler-Rowney SY21.

You can get them from many artists' suppliers and also by mail order.

Its best to wash them first (dishwashing liquid), rinse thoroughly and allow to air-dry. You can use them in the same way as the hugely expensive (but otherwise very similar) nylon brushes sold specifically for sensor cleaning - blow air through the bristles with a Rocket blower, sweep the sensor, blow again, etc.

Re: Sensor Cleaning

Thanks for that! I have to buy a new blower - I read the cleaning tutorial and I have one of those useless small blowers - although interestingly when I was at the camera shop and showed the guy my cleaning kit and basically asked him if what I had was OK for the camera he said yes (? doesn't know much about sales, let alone cleaning camera's I 'm thinking!) Anyway my friend has a nice size blower like you mentioned in the tute so I'll get me one of them.....
