Re: Sensor cleaning
Ray, certainly Warehouse Express indicate Type 5 for your EOS 400D. It is type 1 for my EOS 20D and I bought them from WE and they have been fine. Just cleaned my sensor a few days ago.

Re: Sensor cleaning
Right paul i just rang them, the guy i spoke to gave me some jargon about canon sensors being a tad smaller than nikon he also said that type 1 and type 5 are the same size pads, so hes going to seek advice from a supervisor and ring me back

Re: Sensor cleaning
The sensor is the same size on the 400D and the 20D/30D/etc, so I don't understand why they are recommending Type 5 rather than Type 1. I think it would be worth a phone call or e-mail.

Re: Sensor cleaning
what i dont understand is why you are cleaning the sensor on the 400D anyway when it has a sensor cleaner inbuilt?

Re: Sensor cleaning
Because stupid me changed a lens with the camera switched on
and it sucked half of our living room in well a lot of dust anyway, but thats not the point, warehouse express are selling the wrong size of pad, did you read there advert, they promised they would ring me back and they didnt, that to me says a lot about them![]() |

Re: Sensor cleaning
I did not know that this made a difference. I have never thought about turning the camera of when changing lenses. I will be more careful now.

Changing lenses, battery packs and cards all contribute to the dust equation - and a switched on sensor will tend to be more electrostatcally charged than one that is off |
