Son of "Help please"

Here is a link to the NEF and JPEG files that were shot at ISO6400.
They are, to the best of my knowledge, un-adulterated.
So if you want to have a go at making a silk purse out of a Sows ear? give it your best shot.

You can crop, sharpen, soften pretty much anything that improves the picture.

No Black and Whites please!

Here's my attempt:

Noise Ninja twice (no sharpening), resized and then NN and sharpen the 'tidy' version

Re: Son of "Help please"

Big thanks for that.

I'm currently trying myself.

Just as a further note, the girl on the right shaking hands is the point of interest so if you wanna crop/border? feel free.

I have noticed a bit of motion blur which is a pain but, as I can see from Marks attempt, it would print to 7X5.

Not bad really.

But she looks human!

Will have a further bash with 'artistic' intent - but it'll have to wait as I can't do it now

Re: Son of "Help please"

I have the files now.
There seems to have been a change in the colour balance though.
Was that intentional or did the software do that on it's own?

Iv'e not had much luck downloading either of the files Soup. The download starts and continues for about 5% from the top which took 5 minutes. Before you ask I have got up to 8Meg broadband!!
The only thing I thought, do you have to be a member of Mediafile to download?

[Ok Soup. Managed the download it was a TalkTalk problem!!

Above is my effort using MadiaChance PureImage Trial. The trial version is full featured except it puts the nice little logo in the bottom left hand corner.

Iv'e not spent the $35 for the full version as it quite easy to clone out the logo .
The Retail 1.7 version has all of the latest Raw handling.

Thanks Soup for letting me play with your capture.

Re: Son of "Help please"

It did a good job of cleaning the noise, I could not avoid the motion blur with such low shutter speeds.

All in all, as a last ditch effort, I'm quite pleased with the way the d300 works @ high ISO's.

Sadly, it's a very boring camera.
There are very very few surprises, it does exactly what you ask it to?

Bring back film, that's what I say!

How can you say it's boring? What will ever please you? You want something that doesn't work....?
Why are you not pleased that it does everything you ask, and more?

Re: Son of "Help please"

I'd have to be facing the wrong way when using the camera to be able to lash things up completely.
It's not a bad thing, I just guess I'm used to finding the little "gotcha's" that my previous cameras have always turned up.
