Stupid exposure question

I've just ordered a B+W 10stop ND filter for some stupidly long exposures and was wanting to confirm my arithmatic.

If my camera is telling me to meter for 0.5s without the ND and I add the 10 stop filter, is it correct I need to expose for 8.5(ish) minutes to collect the same amount of light?

i.e.

0.5 * 2 * 2 * 2 * 2 * 2 * 2 * 2 * 2 * 2 * 2 = 512 seconds

/me ducks for cover...

No danger of catching an individual policeman/google car then? They will pass through unnoticed.
