Teleconverters and the 1DmkIV

I'm very lucky to have this camera and was wondering if anybody or what kind of converters work with the 1.3 crop sensor? I have used a canon 1.4X. Also is there a measurement to look for to check third party converters.? Thanks for any information.

Not heard of any TCs that won't work across the range of a manufacturer's cameras. The Canons won't with non-L lenses which is partly why I use a Kenko (the other being that the quality is as good)

Re: Teleconverters and the 1DmkIV

It seems easier to find non compatible lenses with cameras, and non compatible converters with lenses with more information. I finally looked at a few listed cameras and lenses and determined that it is like you say. Any owners of one 1d's that have any tips outside of EFs lenses, your imput is most welcome.
Thank you Mark,

Re: Teleconverters and the 1DmkIV

I moved forward pass my fear of damage to the camera and placed my 2X and then 3X on with my telephoto. The 2X worked very well, the 3X also and I was surprised at the quality, normally real grainy. Looked much better, more of a grain look then noise. I noticed though as I downloaded with the 3X on the camera, the image stabilizer clicking so I turned it off. Will having these converters on a 1D ruin the camera because the camera dosen't see them but odd things happen.
