Which of these (if any) do you prefer?

I'm looking to promote the portrait side and other aspects of the business locally in the run up to Christmas and I intend to do a leaflet drop in our (large) village, probably about 1500 in total. I've designed a couple of A5 size leaflets, what do you think?

Re: Which of these (if any) do you prefer?

Both good

The first would appeal to the older generation IMHO as its very traditional

The second does a good job of showing what you can offer - good diversity and is more modern

just my opinion

Agree 1st is perfect for weddings, where as 2nd covers the other 3 areas you are listing in your title. According to which market you are targeting in this drop, will help your decision

I like both also - the only thing I can think you may consider changing is the fonts. Just my opinion but they clash slightly. Contact details would be great in a simple serif font (apparently easier to read than sans-serif fonts) and, again just my opionion, body text looks better justified.

Nicely done tho.

They are both simple, traditional and effective. If I had to choose then it would be #1 - just don't include your avatar

Definately the 1st one for me

I think the reason the 2nd dosn't work as well for me is because I find the filmstrip in the 2nd is too strong for the Header text to comfortably sit over.

Re: Which of these (if any) do you prefer?

The first one is definitely the better of the two if you are aiming for wedding photography as your main area, however in that case all of the second paragraph is useless as most people don't know and couldn't care less if you have a small portable studio for shooting children or small groups. We are photographers and do know and care about that but the average Joe doesn't

Drop that paragraph and replace it with something much more valid to your target audience to gain the biggest impact and most business.

Re: Which of these (if any) do you prefer?

I like the first, not over keen on the 2nd. The main thing I would change on the 2nd (apart from the film strip border which is too busy) is to make the photos more relevant to what you are offering. As you say you do weddings, portraits, sport & commercial, why not have a photo of each of these instead of two portraits and a dog? Make the pictures work for you, not just add colour to your flyer.

If a picture can paint a thousand words, make sure they something worth hearing :o)

Cheers,
Rob
