uploading back to cf card..

Hi everyon, I am having a bit of a problem trying to upload images I have edited and saved as jpegs on my pc, back to the cf card in my camera. There is an option to upload to the camera via the Digital photo professional software, but the "upload to camera box" is greyed out, do any other 350d users have the answer, I would be grateful for any help.

Re: uploading back to cf card..

Something in the back of my mind tells me you can't do this, well, not on all cameras anyway.

Easier to get a card reader and then just either drag 'n drop in explorer, or cut and paste.

7 day shop do multi card readers for about 5. Another alternative is the get a USB flash/pen drive. I've just got a 4 gig one from 7 day shop for 17.99 + p&p.

You could be right Dab, it was just niggling me that there was an option but it was greyed out, I had a pen flash drive and a card reader and gave them away yonks ago. Suppose I'll have to get down to the shops, I used a cd but I don't know if they can print off cd in high street printers.

Thanks for the quick response though, much appreciated.

Re: uploading back to cf card..

I think you might be lucky with a CD in a High Street photo printers, but the DIY terminals in places like Jessop's and Dixons only accept flash cards and USB drives, I think. Unless someone can tell us different......

Re: uploading back to cf card..

Though I have never had a reason to transfer files back to a CF card, I just checked with my EOS 20D and it defintely would not let me transfer a file into the Camera. I do transfer my pics directly from the Camera to the computer and never use a card reader myself.

One interesting thing I tried a few days ago. I took a part used CF card from my 20D plugged it into a Nikon compact and took 20 Jpegs then put the card back into the EOS 20D to take some more Raw files. This worked fine and all files were later transferred from my camera to my computer.

Re: uploading back to cf card..

Thanks Dave, I transfer directly from camera to card, but wanted to transfer them back to get some prints done there is an option in the software that came with the camera. Digital photo professional, but like I said it's greyed out, but never mind, I will get a pen drive or card reader, but thanks for the help.

Re: uploading back to cf card..

Another option is Photobox, or one of the similar printers. With Photobox, you just drag 'n drop your images into an album on their site and order the prints without you having to leave your house! Prices are good and you get free prints when you sign up. (there is a free registration).

If you get your order in by around noon to 2 o/c, most likely you will get the prints in the post next morning.

I've used them three times now, and in every case the prints arrived the next morning.
