what is ccd width

I was looking at members photos and the exif info and wonderd what ccd width is and how to find this out .I use a kodak p880

Re: what is ccd width

CCD width is used by the camera to calculate the 35mm equivalent of the focal length. It is not a standard and will change according to which lens and focal length you are using. In a nutshell - ignore it

CCD is Charge-Coupled Device. It's the technology your camara sensor is based on.

Kodak P880 (7.18 x 5.32 mm)
Nikon D50 (23.7 x 15.5 mm)
Canon 1DS Mk2 (36 x 24 mm)
