What happened here.....
This was a shot of Richard Caborn MP from yesterdays Tour Of Britain.
When I first opened the RAW file up in Capture One I thought OMG but after opening it up in CS the image shows OK.So any ideas why the corruption?........it's only happened on this image so I'm not too concerned and just would like an understanding to what may have happened. ![]() |

Re: What happened here.....
Like Fuji with their facial recognition, camera obviously has an auto detect feature, but to protect you from looking at dodgy characters?
![]() Looks like the write to the card was interrupted - looks like a partial JPEG as RAW usually just gives an error |

Re: What happened here.....
A similar thing happend to me, but I only lost a quarter of the image. I put it down to the PC I was using at the time which was totally corrupted.

Re: What happened here.....
This can be an early sign of card failure. if you see it again I would suggest trashing the card.

Re: What happened here.....
It only happens in Capture One on this one image. All OK in other RAW converters and when I send this image in to CS3 it's fine

Are you sure you're not using the cut down version?

Re: What happened here.....
I have had a similar problem with two photos recently. They would show in the Microsoft Raw Viewer at low res. but I could not get a full picture at high res. or load into Elements. I put it down to a failing card as it's the cheapest component to replace.

Re: What happened here.....
Ah, well, many RAW viewers actually open the JPEG embedded in the RAW file, rather than the RAW data itself, so you could have a corrupted file with an intact embedded JPEG and it would look OK in the viewer.
