What Type of Photography Do You Do + Want To Do?

I've done mostly landscapes.

Dabbled in macro.

Tried a bit of animal photography.

Portraiture ... well I wouldn't call what I've done portraiture, just a few family shots.

Quite enjoy doing a bit of architecture.

Next I'd like to try sports.

Your turn ...

Edit: Also, what type of photography do you avoid! Me? Night shots, haven't tried any yet + quite frankly wouldn't know where to start.

I've tried most everything (except glamour/nude), I'll shoot anything, I prefer candids most of all.

Re: What Type of Photography Do You Do + Want To Do?

I LIKE ALL TYPES REALLY, PORTRAITURE , OLD BUILDINGS, ARCHITECTURE.
I HAVE NOT DONE A LOT OF LANDSCAPES, I AM A GREAT FAN OF MONO.

AT THE MOMENT, MOST OF MY PHOTOGRAPHY IS FAMILY, ESPECIALLY MY GRANDCHILDREN, THE FAMILY PORTRAITS GET BIGGER ALL THE TIME.

THIS YEAR THEY GET EVEN BIGGER, AS MY DAUGHTER IS HAVING A DAUGHTER IN AUGUST, CAN'T WAIT, WE WILL THEN HAVE THREE GRANDDAUGHTERS AND TWO GRANDSONS.

Re: What Type of Photography Do You Do + Want To Do?

Well so far my interest has been mainly landscapes, seascapes and night-shots, i have tried a few sports but not quite up to our resident sports genius P-E.

I'd like to try portraiture in a studio setting something i hope to dabble in more when our babies born. I'd like to improve my macro shots as really not achieved much there and also like to try doing some artistic nude shots.

However i really do enjoy doing seascapes and just love being by the sea for a sunrise or a sunset its really quite relaxing

Re: What Type of Photography Do You Do + Want To Do?

Mostly done macro and nature type shots, events (conerts / plays etc.), some landscape, and some portraiture and reportage type stuff.
Would like to do some real sports, where I can actually have somewhere to stand / sit, and be allowed to take my camera in, rather than be told to stash it in a security locker as soon as I get anywhere near the ground

Re: What Type of Photography Do You Do + Want To Do?

I enjoy shooting people in all sorts of situations, though I kinda shy away from candid 'street' photography. I've shot landscape and architectural work for commercial clients and would like to do more of this in the futre (eyeing up a D3X and tilt/shift lenses)

I'd never have thought I'd end up shooting combat sports but it turns out that's what I enjoy the most - so I savour the occasions when I can. Whilst I can appreciate macro work, it's not something I've ever gravitated towards personally.

What do I avoid? Paparrazzi style work; I've done it one and a half times - both very early on in my agency career - and I didn't like it. I'd much rather do the civilized thing and cultivate my contacts to get up-close and intimate access that the paps don't get.

Re: What Type of Photography Do You Do + Want To Do?

Right now playing with off camera flash with a very small studio set up. Have done some landscape and wildlife with mixed success, will be doing more landscapes this year, hopefully improving as time goes on. Also want to try more macro as well.

Re: What Type of Photography Do You Do + Want To Do?

Everything i shoot seems to stem from revelling in the place i'm in- Alberta has an astounding wealth of natural beauty, and i never seem to dull the variety of subjects that pop out at me every day...the camera for me is an extension of my eyes- i rarely construct or prefab a subject. Tommorrow is mmmmacro lens day, so i'll be entering a whole new realm of possibilities. Loving where you are translates well into photography- crystallizing the essence of where i am is my ultimate goal. (definately still in the early stages!)

Re: What Type of Photography Do You Do + Want To Do?

Landscapes are the big thing right now, but... Once upon a time it was flowers and insects real close.

Macro is a new (digital) venture.

Would like to expand my horizons though.

Re: What Type of Photography Do You Do + Want To Do?

For myself, I'll have a go at anything and have tried most genres but have found most success at landscapes and macros and am beginning to feel my way into wildlife.

Portrait is my favourite. I like landscape, animals. I would like to do nighttime photography soon and macro. I'm only a starter, so I've got loads to try out yet.

Re: What Type of Photography Do You Do + Want To Do?

My favourites (and I think it's where I find myself most comfortable) are animal, wildlife and nature - plants and whatnot - but I really wish I could produce a half decent landscape.

Re: What Type of Photography Do You Do + Want To Do?

hm well most know that i love architecture......... but to be honest im getting bored. this then leads to the question ....... what do i concentrate on next........... BUT whenever i try to do something different i still find myself going back to architecture, like getting the chance to shoot in Rosslyn out of hours etc............ these things kinda end up in front of me and i cant refuse............. so there i am back to architecture again........

what i dont like............. landscapes......... lovely to look at and im jealous of anyone who can shoot them successfully........ im useless!
Macro.......... bores me to tears, literally and im just too damn lazy to pull out lights etc and no room in the house.

i would like to try some informal portraiture. dark and gothicy stuff but dont know where to start.

Fi
