What is on your wish list?

If someone gave you £1000 to add/change your camera equipment, what would it be spent on and why?

Re: What is on your wish list?

Although not equipment, still photography related, I've got the camera & lenses now to exceed my skills, so a 3 day photography course with a serious pro who can help me jump up to the next level in my photography.

nothing really, couple of "nice to have" things like a P2000 perhaps but nothing essential.

Re: What is on your wish list?

I'd put it towards a D200 at the mo.

Or a Nikkor 70-200 2.8 VR from hK.

Re: What is on your wish list?

Let's see...

1. Canon EF17-40L or Canon EF-s10-20 (still havn't decided on this )
2. Canon EF100 macro or Sigma 150 macro (still havn't decidied on this either )
3. Canon 580 flash.

Alternative...

All towards a Canon 5D.

The first three are in my "to get" list anyway, but if I was "given" £1000 the thought of a 5D might be just too tempting to pass on.

If you are going that route, add the Tamron macro lense to your 'check out' list before you decide. I have never used one myself but it seems to get great reviews and write ups

Re: What is on your wish list?

If someone gave me 1K

Well if I could find another £50 it would have to be a Canon 70-200 2.8.

If not I would probably blow it on a backup body (30D).

Unless I come across a good 2nd hand offer it's really between these two for me... I'd automaticly go for the Canon in the 100mm range due to the addition of USM and the fact that it dosn't extend when focusing, it could also double as a portrait lens (and many use it as such). The Sigma is there because it has HSM and provides a greater working distance while still retaining f/2.8.

Canon or Sigma long zoom with as wide and aperture I can afford.

Re: What is on your wish list?

I'd use a few hundred quid to upgrade my 20D to a 30D and blow the rest on a 17-55mm 2.8 IS. Anything left over would go towards a paper and a cup of tea.
