Got me broadband up & running again & its good to come back to the site again
.Waiting on a new lens coming which shouldnt be to far away so i thought ide get some rings for my p-series filter kit but iam not to sure what one to get, the lens is 77mm & i know i have to get a 77mm ring to go onto the holder but do i need anything else as well because it is a wide angle lens . Also i want to use the 77mm circular polariser on me 18-70mm lens which has got 67mm thread so i think i need a step down ring 76-77mm? would be glad of any info that yous could give |

Re: Whats new?
Good to see you back
![]() SRB do step-down rings and much more. If you have a Cokin or Cokin type system, check that you can mount the filter holder without vignetting with the wide angle lens. Not used the printers yet. |

Re: Whats new?
WB simpbow, good to hear that you're all sorted out now + that you survived the move
![]() Yes, you will need a 77mm adapter ring. If it's an ultra wide angle lens I'd advise you to also get a single-filter holder (as opposed to the standard holder which holds 3 filters) in order to minimise vignetting. Again, yes you'll need a step-down ring 77mm-67mm to use your 77mm polariser with your 67mm lens. Beware of vignetting at the wide angle when using rings with wide angle lenses. I haven't used the pixalo printing service yet, so can't comment on that.

Re: Whats new?
You're welcome
![]() Just thought of another accessory which you might like, altho' I wouldn't say you absolutely need it ... Cokin also make hoods that you can attach to the filter holder. Since you can't use a normal lens hood while using your P-Series filters, the Cokin hoods can be useful if you like to use a hood. You can even stack them for longer lenses (obviously not with a wide angle lens) 'cos they're only short (about 1"). I have 2 but have never used them ... come to that, I've never used my P-Series filters yet either ... had a play with them in the garden once, but that doesn't really count ![]() |
