Re: where to get photographs printed?

Hi Pete, for large and specialist prints you need to try someone like Photobox. Local places like Klick etc are usually limited to A4 or similar. For an odd print at, say, 7x5 I will print my own at home on a Canon Pixma 4300.

But if I want a run of multiples of 50 I will use Jessops, usually waiting until they have an offer such as buy 50 and get 50 printed free. The latter I will use for holiday photos etc since my wife still prefers to look at the real thing now and again. HTH.

Re: where to get photographs printed?

Hi Pete

Welcome to Pixalo. We have our own print service here that would be worth checking out - Link . The PhotoBooks are quite popular.

I'm sure other members will recommend print services they have used also.

I use photobox now and then, quality ok,but uploading takes a long time.
Did an upload of 11 last night ,and it took 40mins

Usually 10p for a 6x4 print, price drops with a big order.

Could be your connection, or the speed of your computer. A guy at work using a laptop with a dual core processor and a 3G dongle modem (which is really slow) uploaded around 15 shots to Photobox in 5-10 minutes.

Mind you, I don't know how big the file sizes were. He uses a compact camera that is a few years old.

If you are looking for quality at a good price then you have to start at ProAM in Bradford. Still have not found anyone who can match there price and quality.
Canvas for quality I would look at these, pricey but good. Canvas Art - Contemporary Canvas Art

Re: where to get photographs printed?

For a lot of pics I use Snapfish.com (Jessops online service uses them I think) but considering using photobox. For larger prints I have used posterXXL - Poster printing, big and affordable. Order easily and conveniently online!. They will crop the paper to fit the print whereas many others want you to crop to fit the paper. Useful for unusual sizes especially panoramics. Service is generally good although the actual printing is in Munich.
I read very good reports of pixalo books though.
