WOW! Camera Blew My Brains Away!

I did a photo-shoot on Thursday with the AV and A-Dep settings. Whoaaaaaaaaaaa! Awesome! I'm just simply blown away!

Yes, I'm getting a better field of depth with these settings. Still not perfect, but I am progressing!

I can't believe I'm seeing MORE fungi specimens in that tree cave! Wowza! I used a small tripod, which sucks at holding a heavy DSLR, as well as external light sources, LED flashlights and a battery-powered work-lamp. I need a stronger work-lamp, I think..... Poor man's style, that is....

Glad you are enjoying it....why not try a bean bag instead of a tripod?

Re: WOW! Camera Blew My Brains Away!

If you have a flashgun or even if you only have on camera flash, stick a pringles tube over it as a snoot and you can direct all the light right where you want it.

A teeny little bean bag????? I wonder where I'd find that...... It's perfect! Ummm, hold on sec! An bean bag eye pillow? I'll try that! Or does it need to be a bit bigger? I'll think of something...

A snoot? Seriously? Hmmmm.... I definitely have to get a container of pringles... Wait a sec, would a paper towel tube work? Or is that too narrow?

Great ideas!

Thanks for sparking my brainstorm!

DIY snoot from Pringles tube | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
OMG! HAHAHAHA! i just saw that Flickr of the snoot! Cool! My flash is the in-camera pop-up flash.

Strangely enough, I get different results with the in-camera pup-up flash than with the no-flash using the external light sources.

You can use it on the pop up flash, you just cut a hole in the bottom of the tube instead of the end. Do it just big enough so it fits snugly over and the flash part is completely inside.

The reason Pringles tubes work so well is that they are silver on the inside so they reflect loads of light down the tube.
