As photographers i am sure that you have your own views on this 1 .

my view is that most of the public (80%) think that a pritty sunset wins hands down but this is where most photographers agree and go fot thing money.....where has originality gone!!!!! diana arbus, simon norfolk, vanly burke have these people been forgot about(i am sure you know who they are) and where do they stand with you

on my website i have exactly the same but which 1's intrest you , id love to hear your opinion on this and your veiws on contempory photography?

Me neither

I may get called a philistine but I wouldn't recognise a contemporary photo if I tripped over one in the street quite frankly.

And while I'm on the subject - as far as the art of the likes of Damien whateverhisnameis and Tracey "Minger" Emin - I don't class that as art, just a quick way to make $$$ from mugs

If someone likes something why does that make it less worthy? You don't and that's fine too but I don't personally believe that one persons view of art is what art is.

I agree that just cos i don't like something it that doesn't make it wrong, but i work my butt off for a living/pitence (sp?) and you get 'artists' who put a toilet in a white room and make thousands...FOR WHAT...for bugger all, lets sleep in a clear perspex box, that's not art it's crap! Lets cut a cow in half and put it in a box heck McDonalds have done that for years (ok they cook it first) IT'S NOT ART, ITS NOT EVEN CREATIVE. Sculpture, painting, design, photography heck even buildings and engineering that can be art and/or creative, but why is this stuff/junk classed as art it's a joke??

No I quite agree, I was just having a rant. Your mileage, as always, may vary.

I took it as that. and I also agree with what you say is considered 'art' because person X did it.
