Books

I'm not sure if this has been suggested before but how about adding photography books to the review section. I know some members are not great lovers of photography books but for people learning photography books can be an excellent learning tool. One thing i do if i'm going to buy a book is go to amazon and read user reviews! Why not have that here. I'm sure most people own a photography book or two. This could include books on editing software as well.

What do think?

Re: Books

Seems a sensible suggestion to me.

We'll discuss it (as is our way) and get a section opened for you.

Can you begin to make a list of books that you will review so that we have a starting point and can get those uploaded for you? Please add them into this thread.

Re: Books

LOL..... and my wife loves me for it .... the funny thing is that I love to go to the Shopping Mall, wich most men hate.
The reason is Calumet Photo and Barnes and Noble Bookstore are side by side, the downside is that my wife says she has to spend twice the amount I spend at both stores.
you should see her closet ...LOL

Re: Books

I didn't feel like going to work today so I sat in my desk started to go thru my books and found one that I like (thats why I bought it ) it gives very good ideas about landscape techniques its called
Creative Photoshop Landscape Techniques I've had it for some months now but what really struck me was IT WAS WRITTEN BY OUR VERY OWN LES MEEHAN. (any relation to Joseph Meehan?, I also own a book by him) I think thats cool, at the library I have read some of his other books like:
Digital Photography Problem Solver
Creative Exposure Control
Black and White Digital Photography

but it didn't hit me until now that its him, I usually dont look at who wrote it, I first glance thru it and if I like it I buy it and read it at home or I go to the library often so I read there.

Creative Photoshop Landscape Techniques - Les Meehan - ISBN 1-57990-708-3

Good work Les Love that book.

any chance of getting it autographed.

Re: Books

Sounds like a good idea, On another forum I'm on, they do a book lending service but its only a small forum so it might not be the best of ideas but worth a thought ?

The owner posts the book out, only allowed to borrow one at a time then the borrow pays for it to go back, only thing is Royal mails charges if its a heavy one might be prohibitive.
