Guides for Posters
As a new poster, may I suggest that a series of guides to doing various things on the site be prepared. I see the Guides being accessible through a link on the main menu line.
Topics that I would appreciate include detailed instructions for submitting messages, how
to upload for the various competitions and galleries, how to size and submit an avatar and
such things.

It is possible that some or all of these are already available in the forums but it seems to me that it would be useful to gather them together in one easily accessible place.

I've tried to submit for fortnightly challenge but I've obviously done something wrong for
my entries are in my gallery but do not seem to appear amongst the 'challenge' entries.
I'd also like to submit an avatar but need to know pixel dimensions and how to get it into place.

However, I'm enjoying your site very much! Thanks!

Many thanks for the suggestion, OldGuy! It's something that has been on my 'To-do' list, awaiting my return home and since that's where I am now, I'll get one with it!

Yes, it can all be a bit overwhelming when you first join the site, I know it took me a while to find my way around.

Some guides for newcomers would definitely help ppl to settle in more quickly, if kept short + concise

Is it possible to put a photo into two different galleries without uploading it twice? For example if I have a photo in one of the general galleries, eg. landscape, can I also then add it to a weekly competition gallery or can it only be in one of them?

Sorry, I meant to add to this a while back . We do have an option for multiple category uploads, but a downside is the software creates multiple thumbnails in "recent shots" On that basis it was decided to keep things tidier & only allow 1 category per upload.

Thanks. Was just checking because I couldn't see anything to do it, but there was a couple of shots I have had to upload twice so I can put them in the weekly comp.
