I have just been reading the posts from Adee in the welcome forum. He appeared to be having some problems in finding out how to post pictures into the groups. I went through the same problem a couple of days ago and only sorted it out when I found a reply by dabhand16 to a post by Woody who also had the same problem.

The information is available but appears to be hard to find. Could you consider having a new user help link somewhere that is easy to find? After the "quick links" after the menu bar perhaps.

Also in the quick links drop down could you put a link to "my gallery" I know you can get there in two clicks from the "members gallery" button but quick links seems an abvious place to have it.

Links to every members gallery appear under every post you make on the forums...see the 'Personal Gallery' button under my, your and everyone else's names?. That's just one click from the forums No matter how many links there are or where we put them, people will still not find them and request extras in what they perceive as more visible places.

Full instructions on how to post images into the gallery, embed them into posts and many other useful stuff are available linked straight from the rules section. Nobody reads the rules though and that causes problems. Perhaps if they did they would also learn how to get the most from the site.

All we can do is politely point them in the right direction when asked or if we notice them struggling. As you rightly point out, all the information is already available

Re the help on how to post. Am I still missing something obvious.

I have just been to the Photo sharing forum. Right at the bottom it says that I cannot paste attachments - which as I now how to post pictures to the forum I understand but I did find that confusingat at first because that was what I wanted to do.

When I look at the rules from the link - which I assume is what you mean

I still canot find the instructions that say you have to put the pictures in your gallery first and them get the link from there.

It must be my age

That link just took me to the forum homepage.

If you look at the last two paragraphs in the Guidelines for Members Gallery - Where to Upload section of the Site Guides and rules forum, You will find what you are looking for.

I also had difficulties when I started using Pixalo, and think this is a good suggestion. I would also suggest that this information should be clearly available on the Home page, under a title like "Information for new users".

I also wonder why there is a link from the Photo Profile to the Forum Profile but not vice versa. That got me stumped in the beginning.
