Am a member of Photosig and when posting they show the username AND real name - find it quite useful e.g spxxxx/Simon


maybe it would be good on here as our signatures don't always show

The historical idea of forums has always been that a member could remain anonymous. I think that the anonymity should continue for whatever reason a member choses (as long as it's legal ). I can't see that it would work if we imposed your suggestion on members and in fact we could well lose members.

However, as you have said, you always have the option of putting your real name in your sig and one could even incorporate it into the forum name eg spxxxx-simon. By the way, sigs only show up if you have used a certain number of characters in a reply which concentrates on the reply rather than the sig.

Thanks for your suggestion spxxxx - keep them coming. We can't always implement members suggestions but we do always listen to them.

I totally agree with Stepheno that showing real names should be left to each member.

The forum is not set up to allow name changes but you could do as Stepheno suggests and add it to your signature or manually add it in the end of your posts.
