LOL! Well, better than the current offering - and I thought I usually welcomed bright, fresh and original designs. Oh, but then this is harsh, garish and scratchy - and all done in 70s psychedelia with a hint of epileptic flashing lights!

Fi - the thread title does say alternative logo !

As an ex-Londoner, I too was gutted when the 'games' were won by London. It is promoted as a British event, but only Londoners are paying for it via a supplement on their Council Tax.

Ummm, think you'll find the 'fund for good causes' aka Lettery aka 'fund to pay for things the government should' is forking out a fair bit - which means the rest of the country is paying (as they won't get funds for their project)

Personally, I'm very pleased that the Olympics is coming to London - and I'm not even a real fan of athletics! Anyhing that livens things up has got to be good! I'd even support a bid for World Cup Soccer (and it doesn't get more dire than that!)

Yes - but you can choose to buy or not buy a lottery ticket, and if a 'gift' of funds is directed elsewhere, you are not actually taking a fiscal hit, you are just going to have to wait longer to get your facility.
