Having just finished a lengthy post I started thinking about my many years in this game, especially about learning/teaching and remembered a few choice situations from the past. I wondered wether we could have this thread for folks to post their own snippets from reality?

OK, senario: just given talk on mono printing to group at camera club (at this stage I'm around 25 yrs old and seriously into mono and zone system etc.). I go to the toilet for a much needed pee and am followed in by one of the old stagers from the club membership...

Old geezer looking puzzled: "I really enjoyed your talk. Tell me, I've been doing this for over 30 yrs and my prints are nothing like as good. How did you get so good?"

Me: "I read everything I can find, books, mags, and 'listen to club speakers'! Then I go and practice what I have learnt until I can do it too!"

Old geezer: "Oh, I was hoping there would be some trick I'd missed."

Teachers Proverb: "Do you have 30 yrs experience or is it one year done 30 times?"
