Rhein Falls

The Rhine Falls is the largest plain waterfall in Europe. They are 150 meters (490 ft) wide and 23 meters (75 ft) high. The water flow in the summer is around 600 cubic meters/second (21,000 cubic feet/second) - as you can see, that is a lot of water (and cold water)

John, another lovely image and you have caught the water movement just right.

Re: Rhein Falls

Thank you Colin and Chris for your comments. Chris, that trip was one of the best I have taken as far as seeing (and photographing) the various sights and environments. My wife is already cringing at the printing costs of the various images I want to print.

Re: Rhein Falls

Here is one from across the falls - another very large pano (31 frames stitched together). The full resolution image is over 306 mega-pixels.

And from the other side of the falls (relative to the first images)

A wider view of the falls (this is a very large multi-shot pano)

Re: Rhein Falls

Juhn, The Pano is an absolute beauty , such clear light and the big flow of water all make a great image. It looks a little over cooked but I suspect it is he JPEG compression from such a large 306mb image which is bound to have had some effect. However I think this is the best of the set and deserves as big a print that you can accommodate in the house.

Re: Rhein Falls

I have to agree with Colin about the overcooking as it appears here.

On the first - the very first - photo, I like it except for the red flag just left of top centre, which insists on drawing my eye to it every time and ignoring the rest of the image.

Re: Rhein Falls

More superb shots of the Rhein Falls, John. it certainly shows up the massive volume of water going through there, what a superb place to visit, I have driven quite a bit of the Rhein but on the German side of the border.
