Like the shallow DOF in these. That first one is really nice. I like the subtlety it gives to the flower

You haven't chosen an easy subject and angle for the first but it comes over well.

It is difficult to cleanly separate the in focus centre and out of focus outer parts. The focus line (more obvious the longer the focal length) runs across the outer petals as well as the centre which makes isolating the centre difficult.

Cheers guys, all on a tripod[v.low] focused moving in & out but finished off with adjusting focus ring manually just very slightly to get a better focus as it seems the only way i can do it at the minute

Yes I would expect moving in and out on a tripod is difficult, and I too would need to focus a bit too. The only alternative being using a slider rail - which I too don't always carry around. That helps the slight focus adjustment.

Good to now am doing something right for a change, trying to come up with an idea for a support for a monopod& guide rail but nothing yet, anyone any ideas?
