Meharg's Garage.

We went out for a short drive in the car just before Christmas and I took my camera saying there is nothing to take around here at this time of year. My wife said there is Meharg's garage take that, something new. We had been past 100's of times but never thought of it as a subject.
Matt Meharg never married and lived next door with his single sister who is now 90 years old. Matt is long deceased but the garage has never been touched since.
His sister came out while we were there and said people stopped sometimes to take pictures and she did not like that in case they were going to burgle. My wife talked to her told her who we were and she was OK. But would not let anyone inside as it was exactly the way her brother left it.
Colin.

No1. The garage. My version.

No 2 Petrol Pumps. Petrol 43.1 pence per litre.

No.3 Castrol Oil & Michelin Sign.

No.4. A look through the window. Love to get inside.

Re: Meharg's Garage.

Great set there Colin, a part of history.
We had two brothers that had a garage near here and they were the same, they even had two 1963 Ford Consuls and a low line still in their factory wax and protection for delivery, this was in 1985 and though I tried they would not sell me one, as far as I know they are still there.

Really good set, it would be great to get inside there are probably loads of old tools and probably car parts.

Re: Meharg's Garage.

Thanks Charles and Scotty. The old sister was quite adamant that no one ever got in as it was exactly the same when he died. Makes one think what subjects there are on our door step and we are so used to them we don't think of them as a subject worth taking.
Colin.

Re: Meharg's Garage.

Fascinating series of shots. Like the colour pop in the first a lot.
