Bibble 4.10 released
Bibble Pro Version 4.10 adds Nikon D60, Canon Rebel XSi, and more.
Also supports New Sony, Pentax, and Olympus dSLR's and adds lens calibration for 14 new Tamron, Nikkor and other lenses. Austin, Tx (May 9th, 2008) - Bibble Labs, Inc. today announce immediate availability of Bibble Pro and Bibble Lite. Version 4.10 adds support for eight of the newest digital SLR's: Nikon D60, Canon Digital Rebel XSi (450D), Sony a200, a300, and a350, Pentax K20D and K200D, and Olympus E-420. This update also adds lens calibration data for 14 new lenses and fixes several minor issues found in previous releases. Version 4.10 is the last planned update to Bibble Lite and Bibble Pro before the launch of Bibble 5. Since the release of version 4.0 over three years ago, Bibble users have received over a dozen free updates. Many of these upgrades added major new features like digital noise reduction powered by Noise Ninja technology, Perfectly Clear One-Touch image optimizer, a RAW-level plug-in interface (with plugins available for watermarking, image framing, B&W film simulation, image toning, Zone System control, perspective correction, graduated neutral density and graduated color filter simulation, selective defocus and many more), automatic lens distortion correction and speed increases. “With RAW Power, RAW Speed, RAW Quality as Bibble Labs' core principles, each update and improvement has been designed with these goals in mind.” says Eric Hyman, President and CEO of Bibble Labs. As announced last year, customers who purchase version 4.10 will receive a free upgrade to Bibble 5 when it becomes available. “Incorporating feedback from thousands of photographers, Bibble 5 will set new benchmarks for ease of use and speed in the realm of photographic workflow software,” continues Hyman. “Working with a familiar, yet fresh interface, Bibble 5 users will obtain the highest quality output from their photos, through a rich and mature suite of editing tools that provide an unmatched level of control. Fully utilizing today's multi-core computers, Bibble 5 will push the envelope of image processing speed to levels well beyond any other competing application.” Availability: Bibble 4.10 is available in both “Pro” ($129.95) and “Lite” ($69.95) versions for Windows, Macintosh (PPC/Intel as a Universal Binary) and Linux. Visit Bibble Labs - Professional Photo Workflow Software for further details and to download a fully functional 14 day trial version. New licensees of Bibble 4.10 will also receive a free upgrade to Bibble 5, once available later this year. About Bibble Labs: Located in Austin, Texas, Bibble Labs Inc was founded in 2000 to develop technologies and software for high quality processing of raw files from a wide variety of digital cameras. Bibble Labs' stand-alone products are used by thousands of photographers all over the world to quickly and accurately process their raw photos. Re: Bibble 4.10 released
I did manage to try it for a few days and it looked good. Like any other software there is a learning curve, and I was a bit too busy to make full use of the free 30 day trial. Do you think that it is worth ditching Photoshop and going for this? I ask because I still use an old version of PS and am slowly migrating to Linux (Kubuntu).

Re: Bibble 4.10 released
I'm not going to provoke a reaction by suggesting that anyone should ditch Photoshop.
![]() All I can say is that, for me, Bibble is all I need 95% of the time - no second-stage processing. In addition to the standard package, I have bought three of Sean's plugins (Welcome to NEXI.com - Nexi) - RoyPRO, ShadiePRO and PercyPRO. Weird names but very effective. Take a look at this.... http://www.bibblelabs.com/products/b...een-2-1200.jpg That's a screenshot of Bibble 5 which is under development and due for release (hopefully) later this year. As you can see, it supports layers and a load of new features, making it even more of an all-in-one application. I currently have Bibble Pro installed under Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty) on an older desktop PC, under Windows XP and (as of yesterday) on a laptop under Ubuntu 8.10 (Hardy), and everything seems to work fine. The current version of Bibble is a little eccentric in its interface, though OK once you get used to it. I think that will improve in v5. Anyone buying now gets a free upgrade to v5, and Bibble's normal policy is for intermediate upgrades to also be free. P.S. If you look in the Bibble forums - support.bibblelabs.com :: Index - under Bibble Pro, there's an Announcement saying how to request a free trial extension if you'd like to give it another go. ![]() |

Re: Bibble 4.10 released
And now they've released 4.10a which corrects a bug in 4.10.

Re: Bibble 4.10 released
Thanks Silkstone. Some of those tools look quite good too.
I managed to mess up my Kubuntu installation by upgrading to Hardy. There was a problem with the Nvidia driver, which I then made worse. Now I am stuck on command line, without the time (or inclination) to find the problem. |
