EOS Magazine emailed me the following

Over the last few years, Canon has announced their 'Autumn Collection'
of new products around the middle of August - and there is no reason to
think this year will be any different.

And no, we don't have any advance information about what might be in
this autumn's announcements."

Ok - here's my take on this. Possible.....

• 10-12 mp (don't need it)
• Live preview (don't need it)
• Anti-shake (don't want or need it)
• Self-sensor clean (definitely don't want it)
• weather sealing (want it but don't need it)
• improved AF (not enough to make me buy)
• full frame (the only attraction but I don't think it will happen)

So with all the hype that is floating about I'll be happy enough with my 30D........unless............nah.........they wouldn't make a full-frame 40D.......would they

No, I think they've committed themselves to EF-S lenses to the extent that they wouldn't leave the 350D/400D as the only APS-C cameras. Also (arguably) there's no need for full frame now we have super-wide lenses for APS-C, and full-frame brings disadvantages like slower burst rate and a greater risk of vignetting.

I'd agree absolutely with your comments, stepheno. Nothing the 40D is likely to have would make me rush to upgrade from the 30D, and the larger sensor would mean even more disk space!
