Seen info on that a few months ago, but it wasn't ready to be put on sale, not 100% sure were i seen it but it could of been Speedgraphic,looks a great job.

If only there had been archival grade 5.25" floppies....

I guess Blu-ray may be around for a few years, like floppies, VHS and flared jeans, but probably not for 200 years. At that price I think I'll give it a miss for now.

I think that about £15 (using the single disk price) for 25gig with a 200 year lifespan is reasonable.

Dear compared to HDD price v capacity, I know, but if it means you have not got to have two or three backup drives, and keep re-burning DVD's every five years, it puts it in a better light.

I take your point, but I think the future lies in solid-state disks which have already started to appear in machines like the Asus EeePC. In normal use, flash-based SSD should have a life of several hundred years, and DRAM SSD even longer.

Good point, but any electronic media is susceptible to corruption. I would not trust my archive to it.
