Epson has won five prestigious accolades for its product design and technological innovation from the International Forum (iF) design awards 2007. The iF design award is presented to products that feature cutting edge technology and contemporary design. Epson received the awards for a number of its digital imaging products; the Perfection V10 scanner, P-5000 Multimedia Storage Viewer, PictureMate PM 240, EMP-6100 business projector and the TM-88IV PoS printer. The iF jury panel is represented by 35 well respected international product design industry experts. This year they reviewed 2,293 products from 35 different countries.

The Epson P-5000 Multimedia Storage Viewer is designed for the professional photographer who needs to view and share digital photos in JPEG and RAW format. It features the world’s first four-colour filter with Epson’s 4.0” Photo Fine Ultra LCD screen. The Epson P-5000 offers an 80GB hard drive capacity and will store up to 4,500 files in RAW format. The browser function allows searching through photos to be done quickly and easily, which is ideal when on location. The P-5000 is built for durability and efficiency in a high-quality sleek and sturdy black casing.

The Epson Perfection V10 scanner is an A4 scanner designed for home users and first time scanner buyers. It offers fast scanning capability with USB 2.0 Hi-Speed and Epson’s Superior Matrix CCD technology. It is incorporated in a modern silver finish designed to look stylish on any desktop. The innovative 90º or 180º hinge design enables portrait or landscape scanning, whichever way it fits best onto the desktop. The lid opens fully, enabling thicker objects up to 25mm to be scanned with the lid closed.

The Epson EMP-6100 is an advanced business projector with Epson 3LCD technology. It is designed to be reliable and easy to use. The EMP-6100 has a new inbuilt preventative system with Epson’s Easy MP monitoring technology that allows easy maintenance of the product. The unique new electrostatic filter protects the projector against trapped small dust and smoke particles to ensure that the projected images remain vivid and bright. Enjoy a high brightness up to 3500 ANSI lumens or 2700 ANSI lumens in energy saving mode which can achieve a premium image quality with a contrast ratio of 500:1.

The Epson PictureMate PM 240 allows easy and convenient printing of 10cm x 15cm photos from home. View and edit photos using the 2.5” colour preview monitor, Epson’s Advanced Variable Sized Droplet Technology (AVDST) allows fast printing at 42 seconds per photo. The smooth and portable design allows convenient printing from anywhere and Epson has designed an optional battery pack so the PictureMate PM 240 can operate in standalone mode when no power supply is available.

Designed specifically for high-volume sales environments, the Epson thermal TM-T88IV offers 25% faster printing than its predecessor with a two-colour print capability. The new easy-to-use features are; drop-in paper roll loading, autocutter, full auto status back reporting, enhanced cable management system, optional external power supply mounting, maintenance counter and optional buzzer. The TM-T88IV's small footprint and redesigned case makes it ideal for all demanding retail and hospitality environments including convenience and department stores, specialty retail, restaurants, hotels and bars. The printer can also be wall mounted using an optional bracket to further save space.
