Post Harman launch new inkjet paper

HARMAN Technology has officially launched the first product in its pioneering range of professional photographic inkjet media. From February 5, HARMAN PHOTO Matt FB Mp paper is available for purchase throughout the UK. The products are also available throughout the USA and Canada.

The instant-dry paper incorporates real-photo Baryta, offering enhanced colour brightness, tonal range and archival properties. HARMAN has also developed unique anti-curl technology used in the production process to ensure the paper lies completely flat before, during and after printing. This flatness combined with a weight of 310gsm helps the media to emulate the physical essence of a traditional photographic print.

Howard Hopwood, marketing director at HARMAN technology commented: “This launch is a watershed moment for HARMAN technology. We are very proud of the HARMAN PHOTO product, and we believe there is no true comparison in the global inkjet marketplace.”

“We are very confident that the paper will be well received by the professional photographic community, as we believe it fulfils a demand for a premium quality inkjet media that offers many of the inherent characteristics of traditional photographic prints.” He added.

The paper has already enjoyed an enthusiastic reaction from photographers and creative industry professionals at the Photokina exhibition in Cologne, and the Photoplus exhibition in New York City last year – generating widespread anticipation for the official launch.
Amongst the product’s admirers is leading photographer Les McLean, who commented: “At last, we have an inkjet paper that feels like a traditional photographic paper. The prints I have created so far are as good as any I have ever made using inkjet media, and I’m still in the early stages of testing.”

Les will be demonstrating the product at this year’s Focus on Imaging exhibition at the Birmingham NEC in February, and the company is due to announce official launch plans for the second product in the range at the show.
