Lens Distortion Correction software
PTLens
PTLens is software that corrects lens pincushion/barrel distortion, vignetting, chromatic aberration, and perspective. The following are supported: * PC (Windows 2000 or later, screen resolution at least 1024x768 DPI 96) o Standalone application (JPEG, TIFF) o Plug-in for Photoshop o External editor for Lightroom o For further instructions view file README.TXT in the download * Mac (MacIntel OS-X 10.5.2 or later, screen resolution at least 1280x800) o Standalone application (JPEG, TIFF, Raw) o Plug-in for Photoshop (no Rosetta) o External editor for Lightroom (version 2.0 or later) o Plug-in for Aperture (version 2.1 or later) o For further instructions view file ReadMe.rtf in the download View examples of PTLens at work, or download the software for a free 10 image trial here. I believe the software works with Lightroom and Aperture.

Re: Lens Distortion Correction software
Thanks for highlighting this software Graham .I mentioned this a few months ago when I altered a shot in one of the critique forums.I didn't get much response though I find it works very well especially the Vignetting correction as well.
I also use DCE tools "perspective correction" for quick correction. This works very well and in a more simpler way by "pulling" the grid and seeing the result in live preview side by side. It also has the advantage to pull the grids to beyond the edges of the shot. Regards Brian |
