Limited RAW support for Nikon D2Xs

Released this morning - an apology to owners of Nikon's new D2Xs camera has been posted on the Nikon European support centre website regarding the lack of RAW file support. Support is currently limited to the Nikon PictureProject software as Nikon Capture will not support the camera until the new NX version is released.

The following statement has been posted on the Nikon European Support Centre website:

'Nikon regrets to inform customers that D2Xs NEF RAW file conversion and editing is temporarily limited to the PictureProject software available in box with product. We recognise that many customers will expect more comprehensive editing control offered by Capture NX software that is expected to ship in the summer 2006. Therefore Nikon will offer the option for customers to download a free of charge 30-day Trial version of Capture NX as soon as possible. Customers should note that NEF RAW files produced by the D2Xs are NOT compatible with previous Nikon software applications Nikon Capture 4.4. or Nikon View 6.2.7.

We apologise for this temporary inconvenience and are working very hard to ensure that customers can enjoy the creative control they expect from shooting in NEF as soon as possible.
'

Not exactly a free fix
