Is this Marketing Hype?
Today Sony launched the new Cybershot T-10. It features a 7.2 effective Megapixel Super HAD CCD plus a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 3x Optical Zoom lens. However, Sony are claiming a Double 'Anti-Blur' Technology - here's an extract from the press-release. Any views or comments?
"Double ‘Anti-Blur’ - Super SteadyShot and High Sensitivity Technology Camera shake is one of the biggest causes of spoiled pictures. Thanks to double ‘anti-blur’ technology – the combination of Super SteadyShot and High Sensitivity – the Cyber-shot T10 reduces the risk of camera shake when shooting handheld without flash in low light conditions. Super SteadyShot uses a gyro-based optical image stabiliser that adjusts the lens element position to combat camera shake when shooting handheld or at low shutter speeds. This feature can also be used in combination with slow shutter or small apertures for more creative shots – even in Movie mode. The second anti-blur technology employed in the Cyber-shot T10 is the camera’s extremely High Sensitivity capability. This allows the capture of fast moving objects without blur – a feature not possible with image stabiliser technology alone. The Cyber-shot T10 uses Clear RAW NR processing that boosts signal to noise performance while increasing sensitivity up to ISO1000." |

Re: Is this Marketing Hype?
You gotta love it - hype or not, I must have "Clear RAW NR processing"! Ordinary RAW will just not do!

Hype Hype Hype Hype Hype Hype Hype Hype Hype Hype Hype
There, I've said it. This annoys the **** out of me with Sony; some companies such as Fuji correctly state "low light performance up to ISO 1600"... Sony needs to call it something else, just to trick the uninformed into believing that Sony has different/better technologies OIS / VR / IS technologies have been around for a while too, so this "Double Anti Blur" schtick is just annoying. It would be funny to see what users of the T-10 say to sony when some of their shots come out blurry due to sloppy technique etc. ![]() |
