No - but it was the best I could come up with.

Re: Nikon announce Geotagging gizmo

Now I could really use one of these; I was just going through some old photos which I'd taken whilst travelling through Germany could have made good use of knowing exactly where the images were shot; same for a three-week trip I took to the US a few years back.

I'm liking the fact that it doesn't have to be connected to the hotshoe, coming bundled with an adapter to secure it to your strap. Now all we need to know is the price

Re: Nikon announce Geotagging gizmo

I reckon these items will become more popular as GPS co-ords become as relevant as keywords / tags etc in google search terms

Re: Nikon announce Geotagging gizmo

Hmmm, had an app to do this a few years ago who's main advantage was that it was free!

Worked by taking the EXIF date/time and adding the pic to my GPSr track. Since I knew where I'd taken the shot from, this was somewhat less than useful tho' quite fun to have thumbnails along the route I'd taken

So in case anyone comes across this and is hunting for a GPS solution.

It looks like the GP-1 is $1000USD, give or take a few.

And it looked so promising...

Re: Nikon announce Geotagging gizmo

If you're talking about the price over at onestopdigital.com (or similar) then that's just a placeholder; the actual RRP is still to be announced and I think it will come in around the £150 ($250 US) mark.
