Looks good BUT

Where has the BKT button gone?? Please don't tell me it has been buried in a menu. That would be a big minus for me.

I read somewhere that you can assign BKT to the custom button on the front of the camera, or replace one or two of the other buttons functions with BKT via the custom menu.

Maybe in the pre-set preferences memories you can have different button functions dependiing on what you are shooting. Not ideal though - a BKT button would be easier.

That would be fine for me, on the D200 and the D2X there is the function button and the ael button that can be mapped. If the playback buttons could be mapped in shooting mode that would open up possibilities.

Well the first hands on review has been (partially) published and it would seem as you said Dabhand BKT is for function button, ael or DOF preview. So I will loose something and will need to think about shooting banks more. UPDATE a bit better the Function button has 2 settings one for button only and one for button plus a dial so it can do both!
On the other hand the vertical grip looks a big improvement.
