D80 Firmware Update 1.10 - Windows
About this firmware update This service provides software for upgrading D80 A firmware to v1.10 and B firmware to v1.10. When performing this Firmware Upgrade, be sure to upgrade both A and B firmware. Be aware that operation of your D80 is not guaranteed if either A or B firmware is upgraded to v1.10 while the other firmware is not upgraded. The following improvements have been made in version 1.10. - The D80 is “Certified for Windows Vista" - Support for the new USB Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) has beenadded. The PTP option in the setup menu's USB item will be modified to MTP/PTP. The icon will also be modified. - The effects of noise reduction processing performed at shutter speeds of 1 - 8 s with shutter speed set to “bulb”, when On is selected for Long exp. NR in the shooting menu, have been improved. How to confirm your cameras current firmware version If the latest firmware versions are already installed on your D80, you need not proceed with download or installation of this Firmware Upgrade. Current firmware versions can be verified from the Firmware version item in the camera's setup menu. 1.Turn the camera on. 2. Press the MENU button and select Firmware version from the setupmenu. The camera's firmware version will be displayed. 3. Turn the camera off. Quick guide for download and installing this firmware update Power the camera from AC adapter unit or use a fully charged battery. 1. Download the firmware file from the link below. 2. Turn the camera on, press the "Menu" button, select the SETUP menu and then select "CSM/Setup menu". Select the "Full" menu option and press OK. 3. Format an approved memory card in the camera. 4. Connect D80 to computer (in MSC Mass Storage USB mode) or use a SD Card Reader. 5. Copy only one of the downloaded files "AD800110.bin" (A firmware) or "BD800110.bin" (B firmware) to the top level of the memory card. Do not copy both files to the card at the same time. 6. Disconnect the camera from the computer (if using an SD card reader then insert the memory card to the camera) 7. Turn the camera on, press the "Menu" button, select the SETUP menu and then select "Firmware Ver". 8. Select "Version Up" and follow the camera's on-screen menus. Do not turn the camera off during upgrade. 9. When a message displays that the upgrade is complete, turn the camera off. 10. Repeat steps 3 - 9, to perform the second firmware update. 11. Re-format the memory card. System requirements 5MB or more free hard-disk space. 32MB or more free RAM. Built-in USB port.
