Members who use Nikon software may not be aware that there have been some updates to several applications. Here is a list of the latest updates with a description of what improvements they will provide.

PictureProject
For Downloading, Managing and Editing images from the latest COOLPIX or D-SLR Cameras. Picture Project is Nikon's next generation image browser and editor which has all of the useful functions from Nikon View, but has an easier interface and workflow. You can open and adjust the image into the PictureProject Editor or other application of choice.

PictureProject COOLPIX Remote Control
PictureProject COOLPIX Remote Control is an add-on to PictureProject that allows you to control supported COOLPIX (L1, S4, 8800, 8400) cameras connected via USB cable from a computer and transfer photos directly to the computer as they are taken.

Nikon View
Nikon View is the fore-runner of PictureProject and thus does not support the latest cameras and is no longer distributed. If you already have a copy you can download the latest software updates.

This brand new software is the completely redesigned photo editing software that provides professional photographers powerful tools for photo editing. Capture NX unleashes the power of the Nikon Electronic Format (NEF) files and, for the first time, also makes JPEG and TIFF image processing elegant, intuitive, and extremely powerful. Capture NX enables a full non-destructive image editing workflow, and provides a number of new features, including Color Control Points powered by U Point™ technology. This software can either be used as a fully functional 30-day trial version of Capture NX or as an updater for Capture NX v1.0.

Camera Control Pro (30 day trial)
This stand alone remote camera control software allows full control of all aspects of the camera prior to shooting, and the subsequent extraction of files afterwards. The remote control software is compatible with supported wired and wireless interfaces. Extremely useful in high production studio environments like packshot photography, thumbnail images can be viewed on screen during transfer.

Nikon Scan
Nikon Scan 4
This software is provided with the latest Nikon film scanners and allows control of the scanner settings and image adjustment prior to scanning with USB and IEEE 1394/Firewire Nikon film scanners. Image size, curves and dust and scratch removal (ICE) can be performed in the Nikon Scan software. Nikon Scan can be used as a stand alone program or via the import option of imaging programs such as Photoshop.

Nikon Scan 3
This is the latest software available for use with older Nikon USB, IEEE1394/Firewire and SCSI film scanners allowing control and image adjustment. Nikon Scan 3 can be used as a stand alone program or via the import option of imaging programs such as Photoshop.
