The PENTAX XG-1 lets you capture the world around you flexibly and effortlessly. 24-1248mm* The XG-1 provides extra-wide zoom coverage, from ultra-wide-angle to super-telephoto ranges. *Focal lengths in 35mm format Within its compact, lightweight body, the XG-1 features a high-magnification 52-times optical zoom lens (extendible to 208-times in combination with the Intelligent Zoom function). Coupled with a high-performance, back-illuminated CMOS image sensor and high-grade smc PENTAX lens elements, the XG-1 captures dynamic, high-quality images, from ultra-wide-angle to super-telephoto ranges. The 1cm Macro mode captures subjects in great detail. The XG-1 lets you capture dramatic close-up images from just one centimeter away (at the wide-angle end). 3.0-inch LCD monitor and electronic viewfinder The XG-1 features a high-resolution 3.0-inch LCD monitor with approximately 460,000 dots for a large, clear view of the subject and menus. Its electronic viewfinder comes in handy when shooting in bright sunshine. Simple operations and an array of shooting functions in a compact, stylish body. The mode dial simplifies shooting mode selection. In addition to the all-purpose Auto Picture mode for automatic selection of the most appropriate shooting mode, the XG-1 also provides user-selectable options such as the Aperture-priority AE and Shutter-priority AE modes. 13 Scene modes for optimum visual expression of specific subjects and scenes Simply by choosing one of the Scene modes, the XG-1 optimizes all related settings, even when dealing with a confusing subject or situation such as the handheld shooting of night scenes, or photography of subjects such as active pets, fireworks or sports. Full HD movie recording with simple push-button start The XG-1 records Full HD-standard movie clips (1920×1080 pixels, 16:9 aspect ratio). It also provides the High-speed Movie mode for slow-motion playback, and an array of digital filters including Black & White and Sepia.
