Photoshot photographic library add NewsCom to their supplier list

Photoshot, the UK’s oldest independent photographic library (estd. 1929) today announced a further addition to their collection of photographic images, via NewsCom, a news content photo provider with over 100 suppliers around the world. More than 1,000 NewsCom live news images a day are now coming into Photoshot for selection and onward distribution to Photoshot clients in the UK, together with access to a further 850,000 images from the NewsCom collection.
The photographic content from Newscom is mainly news-based and includes images from providers such as UPI (United Press International) a long established and highly regarded US-based news business, Kyodo News from Japan, Pakistan Press providing images from the sub-continent and GDA for Latin American images. There are also images from China, Central Europe and the Middle East.
“Building on our existing collections of news images (UPPA), celebrity and celebrity events (Starstock) nature photography (NHPA), travel imagery (World Pictures and Travel Photographer of the Year), studio celebrity portraiture (Stay Still) and creative stock images (Photoshot Creative), this brings us closer to our goal of providing a comprehensive archive of photography for editorial usage” said Charles Taylor, MD of Photoshot. “With access to over 8 million images, we can now meet the photo requests placed by our clients better than ever before, whether they place searches on our website or with our team of researchers”.
