REALVIZ® Introduces Stitcher® Unlimited 5.5 DS, Including 2-Shot Fisheye Stitching

Sophia Antipolis, France (November 21, 2006) - REALVIZ®, a leader in image processing software development, is pleased to announce the availability of Stitcher® Unlimited 5.5 DS ("Double Shot"), which offers the ability to automatically stitch 2-shot fisheye photos. Stitcher Unlimited DS delivers the most versatile and accessible solution for a wide variety of industries, for the creation of stunning panoramas from horizontally and vertically stitched photos, and fisheye shots.

With the new DS ("Double Shot") extension for Stitcher 5.5 Unlimited, even 2-shot IPIX® style fisheyes can now be stitched automatically, providing a unique one-stop solution for anyone working in immersive imaging.

Acknowledged as "the world's premier image-stitching program" (3D World Magazine, December 2006), Stitcher is a professional-level application, used by thousands of professional photographers, architects, multimedia and 3D artists worldwide, and enables the creation of superb wide-angle panoramas for the Web, film, print, and 3D. With Stitcher 5.5 Unlimited DS, users can quickly create virtual tours and display them using the following viewers: Apple® QuickTime® VR, ImmerVision Java-based PURE Player, and Shockwave® 3D-based SPi-V3d Viewer from fieldOfView.

Visual Documentation of Construction Projects: Capturing locations, which need to be documented in full and accurate detail. Immersive images created with REALVIZ Stitcher can be used for training purposes, planning for new constructions and upgrades. Images can also be directly exported and published in Google™ Earth, pin-pointing exact geographical positioning, courtesy of the Google Earth 3D viewer.

Law Enforcement: Documentation of crime scenes for identification and forensic purposes. With Stitcher Unlimited DS, it is possible to re-visit crime scenes as they were when officers first arrived on the scene, preserving exact details of evidence throughout the investigation.
