Ricoh F100fd firmware update v1.02

FinePix F100fd Firmware Update Ver.1.02

Applicable model: FinePix F100fd

•Detail of the update

The firmware update Ver.1.02 incorporates the following issues.
- Reduce "pinkish-colored band" which may be rarely found in the left side edge of image when the image is shot at ISO 400 or shot without flash on "NATURAL & FLASH MODE".

•Precaution
1. If firmware updating fails, the camera may no longer operate correctly in some cases.
Carefully read the notes provided here.

2. Always use the AC adapter when updating the firmware as a basic manner. Never turn the camera off or attempt to use any of the camera controls while the firmware is being overwritten.

3. Firmware updating requires approximately 20 seconds.

4. Once the firmware has been updated, the previous version cannot be restored.

1.Preparation
a.Prepare the target digital camera.

b.Prepare the media.
The firmware updating procedure requires a formatted media. Refer to the FinePix F100fd Owner's Manual (p.109) for information on using "FORMAT" in the SET-UP menu to format a media.
Note that formatting procedure will delete all data on the media, including protected files. Always copy any important files that you do not want to lose to your PC beforehand.

c.Prepare the power supply.
Use the AC adapter (AC-5VX) and DC-coupler (CP-50). (Or you may use fully-charged NP-50 battery.)

d.Prepare the USB cable.

Have the USB cable bundled with your camera ready.

2.Firmware version checking procedure

Insert a blank formatted media in the camera. Turn on your FinePix F100fd while holding down the [DISP/BACK] button. The number will displayed "CURRENT" showing the camera's current firmware version.

After checking the firmware version, press the [MENU/OK] button and then turn off your camera.
