Press release:
Robert, who has been working as a professional wedding photographer for two years, achieved The Guild of Photographers Master Craftsman qualification for demonstrating excellent customer service and a high level of wedding portraiture skills. He said: “My interest in wedding photography started by helping out friends as a favour at their weddings. I now work professionally and as a member of The Guild I am very proud to have gained the Master Craftsman qualification.” ![]() The photographer, who specialises in digital wedding photography had to submit three complete albums of wedding pictures, which demonstrated versatility and control of light, a variety of compositions, a high level of creativity and a mastery of art and technicalities of photography, to gain the Master Craftsman status. Robert, who runs his own photography business ‘Bob Dougal Photography’ in Kilsyth with his wife Maisie, also had to show several recommendations from customers to gain his award. Joan Roberts from The Guild of Photographers said: “I am delighted Robert has achieved this Master Craftsman qualification. It demonstrates he can produce high quality photographs, has real attention to detail and an excellent standard of customer care.” The Guild of Photographers, which is based in Bridgwater, Somerset, is run by experienced photographer Joan with the support of fellow photographer, David Evans and has recently celebrated its 18th anniversary. It offers members professional, friendly support and training. Members receive a whole host of benefits including supplier discounts, free promotion of Guild photographers to potential clients and a regular news bulletin. The Kilsyth photographer has also signed up to sell balloons for a national balloon release competition, which the UK’s Guild of Photographers has launched for brides and grooms-to-be. The competition is designed to help raise awareness of The Guild, its members, who are based all over the UK, and its new website www.gwp-weddingdirectory.co.uk, which offers free advice to couple’s planning a wedding. Proceeds from the competition will be donated to Comic Relief. The bride or groom-to-be whose balloon travels the furthest from any of the launch points and is returned to The Guild by April 30, 2007 will be declared the overall UK winner. They will win £1,000 towards the cost of their wedding photography, plus a further £1,000 if their photographer is a member of The Guild. Joan explained “We aim to sell 10,000 balloons in total by March 1, 2007 and then in the run up to Red Nose Day on March 16 we will host a series of balloon launches at wedding venues across the UK.” For further details about The Guild of Photographers or the balloon launch competition, please call 0870 2409242 or visit www.photoguild.co.uk.
