Sigma lens wins EISA award
Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC Lens Receives EISA European Lens Of The Year 2005-2006 Award.
The Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC superzoom lens, wins EISA EUROPEAN LENS OF THE YEAR 2005-2006 award. EISA is the largest editorial multimedia organisation in Europe, with a membership of fifty Audio, Mobile Electronics, Video and Photo magazines drawn from twenty European countries. Every year, the EISA Awards celebrate new photographic products such as interchangeable lenses, digital and film compact and SLR cameras. The Awards applaud the products that combine the most advanced technology with the most desirable features. ![]() ![]() The lens was awarded this prestigious title because of its incredible 11.1x zoom ratio, ultra compact dimensions, suitability for digital SLRs and its excellent correction of distortion and flare and last but not least, its reasonable price of £329.99. http://www.sigma-imaging-uk.com/ |

First I've heard of this lens (insert newbie stuff here) but it looks like a cracking everyday 'walking around' type lens.
I really like the wideness of the 18mm end on my kit lens but often find that 55mm just isn't enough at the other end. Shame I haven't got £300-odd quid lying about. |

I'm very surprised the Tamron 18-200 didn't win. Still, the award is genuine - the Canon 17-40L deservedly won it in the year it was launched.

I just clicked on the Sigma link only it didn't take me to the Sigma site. I then tried the http://www.sigma-imaging.co.uk version and it redirected me to Tamron's site!
Sigma UK is http://www.sigma-imaging-uk.com/ Sigma USA is http://www.sigmaphoto.com/ Sigma Japan is http://www.sigma-photo.co.jp/english/ [Edited to correct my mistake in the URL] Last edited by andrewc : 24-08-2005 at 10:54. |

Actually the address for sigma uk is http://www.sigma-imaging-uk.com/
Which is very slightly different to the incorrect address given above. Notice the second "-" instead of a "." |
