Best Photo Software: Apple Aperture 2

Today’s photographers face the task of managing and organizing an efficient digital workflow from capture right through to a variety of imaging outputs. Apple Aperture 2 is a solution that has been developed from the ground up to make this possible. Besides an improved, easier to use interface and enhanced project handling, Aperture 2 introduces a set of new imaging tools for highlight recovery, colour vibrancy, local contrast definition, soft-edged retouching, vignetting control and the fine-tuning of RAW files. The new Quick Preview mode provides fast photo browsing to allow quicker comparing and rating of images, and the open plug-in architecture makes it easy for photographers to use third-party software directly from within the programme.
