Would you trust Canon?

If you own a Canon camera do you trust them? Have you had any positive or negative experiences with Canon warranty, service etc or do you just agree with Reader's Digest survey?

"Consumers vote Canon most trusted camera brand in Europe for sixth consecutive year

Canon brand voted ‘most trusted’ in 10 out of 14 countries. High quality of Canon products key factor in survey ranking.

LONDON, June 22, 2006 – Canon has been named most trusted brand for cameras for the sixth consecutive year in the Reader’s Digest European Trusted Brands Survey 2006, one of the broadest pan-European surveys of consumer attitudes towards brands.

Reader’s Digest, the world’s best-selling monthly magazine, asked over 25,000 of its readers in 14 European countries to nominate the brand they trusted most in a range of consumer categories, including cameras. Over 317,000 votes were cast across the product categories with over 112,000 different brands nominated."

I'll keep a lookout for that, though I tend to print on A3+ and guillotine.

Re: Would you trust Canon?

Just a thought Gary.... If you lift up the cover there's a foam strip at the bottom of the case. I believe that part of its purpose is to soak up waste ink when you do borderless printing and some ink sprays over the edge. I find that it can get quite saturated, so every so often I use some loo roll or kitchen paper to soak up as much as possible.

I don't know if that will help, but it's possible that the heads are picking up ink from the foam rather than being cleaned by it.

Cheers for that, but I think the canon service engineer has really ######## it up. Just getting error 5200 now

Re: Would you trust Canon?

I use a Pixma iP4000. I've often thought it would be nice to have an A3 printer but wonder about the cost if things go wrong. One things for sure I've had Epsons and Canons and I'll always buy Canon now. Oh dear....is that another can of worms

OOOOps, id say so.
The reason I have the A3 is a simple fact of print sales, the printer will pay for itself very quickly. It usually takes me about 18 months to break these things
