wow nice shot .. but for me i didn't like the way it somhow looks false.. posing, if this was the way it was set up great, but i would have like a more natural shot from the eyes[ it is like the young girl was told to,, look to the right / left.. shot taken, ..thats it ,.. next...i'm hopeless at CC, only my opinion you understand.

I like the shot very very much including the posing.

I need to get into gear to take a picure like this of my daughter.

Really like this shot.

Can I ask what lighting setup you use and position of the lights?

Many thanks,

Ian

no problem ian..

i have two lights lighting up my background " white muslin sheet" and one light at the front with a 450x450mm softbox on it . lighting from her left " my right"
hope this helps some....

ps the lights are the cheap falcon eyes ... seen for sale in the back of most magazines..

Thanks very much for that. Would you be able to provide any links to the kit you use? I will have around 500.00 in a couple of weeks and looking for a home lighting solution to enable me to shoot similar pictures as the one you have posted. A little confused at the moment :p

I have just seen this shot after commenting on your other b&w version with the different crop. I have to say that this one is perfect. Great composure, excellent framing, the lighting is superb, post processing spot on and the results stand out. :)
