Laurena

Hi guys,

Here is the result of a recent studio shoot. The model was lit with a large softbox camera left (key) and beauty dish (fill) camera right.

Processed in Photoshop to create a slight painterly look which I enjoy.

The two headshots are crops from the finalised image.

Cheers,

Re: Laurena

She has great eyes, and good to see there is still skin detail in the tight crop. You are joining Fionab by subjecting your model to critters!

I might have removed the seam in the background in #1 and I like the head shot #2 best

Re: Laurena

Agree with Dabs especially about the eyes. I think I would have removed that thin scar above the right eyebrow

Re: Laurena

Agree with all above, lovely model well posed. The only nit would be is there is hardly any separation with the hair from the BG. But I still like them.

Re: Laurena

i like all three, although i think there is too much texture in the skin on those close ups" artistic licence i think"
but it works, dabs is right with the seam in the background in No1 i kept looking at that, rather than the model it just shows how distracting it is , great captures though and the eyes have it for me and love those critters.

Love all three shots! Agree about removing the seam. And those millipedes, or whatever they are, give me the creeps (just me I have always hated them)!

Re: Laurena

Hi,

Yes, I could easilly remove the seam, as I can understand it may be distracting. Im not sure about removing the scar and facial texture though - what would be the purpose?

Cheers

Re: Laurena

I find that once spotted my eye is drawn to the scar which is a great pity as she has a beautiful face and especially eyes. Nice to see dark hair instead of blonde, a very nice model

Actually it doesn't look too much like a scar for instance i see another one about two inches in old money below the right eye towards the cheek bone . it's not my place to say either way, but it looks like it's the processing rather than an imperfection too the skin. of course hang me out to dry if i am wrong here

Re: Laurena

agree about the seam. wopuld like a little more separation maybe a hair light would have worked... i like the skin texture..... if its a scar i would leave it if its processing i would remove it. Nice work tho well done

Re: Laurena

Yep about removing the seam.
As for the scar. For me it separates this photo from a great shot of a model
To a great shot of this model.
For this reason I like it.

Captures my sentiments perfectly.

With respect to the details on the face, I wouldn't wish to hang anybody out to dry, but the face was subject to very minimal processing so I know any details are physically part of the model and not a result of PS
